Curious Case of the Snood?

Fifa has announced that they will hold a meeting to "discuss Snoods". They are considering banning the item of clothing as they "not officially sanctioned". A FIFA spokesman said: "We want a debate over the snood and whether it could be dangerous. There may be a safety issue - if for example a player was running through on goal and an opponent grabbed his snood, that could pose a potential danger to his neck."

Currently the neck-warmer in question is being debated in the media by various personalities including former Manchester united captains, and a certain Arsenal Manager.

Its popularity has increased in last few months as some of the top players in the premier league including a certain Argentinean troll have started wearing it/them on a regular basis.

Question I put to you is this, if Fifa are so worried about players being hurt by grabbing the snood whilst a player is running, what is the difference between that and long hair and football shirts?
